YIN YOGA

GENTLE YOGA

 Yin Yoga classes are a slower-paced, more meditative version of yoga. In Yin yoga, the poses are held for a long period of time (typically three to five minutes or longer) to target the connective tissues (such as the ligaments) rather than focusing on the muscles. As a result, the asanas are more passive holds, with little muscular engagement.

GENTLE YOGA

 Gentle yoga classes are essentially a gentler style of hatha yoga practice. It is performed at a slower pace, with less intense positions, and usually includes extended meditation, yogic breath work, and relaxation. A gentle class usually includes more warm up movements and the yoga postures are often held for longer times.

VINYASA FLOW YOGA

 Vinyasa yoga classes are a type of yoga that links movement and breath to attain balance in the mind and body. From the Sanskrit “to place in a special way,” vinyasa aligns a deliberate sequence of poses with the breath to achieve a continuous flow. Inhalation is usually connected to upward, open movements, while exhalation is often tied to downward movements or twists.

  Beginner Yoga classes are designed for those who have had no previous exposure to yoga, but are eager to learn and start experiencing the amazing benefits of a yoga practice. The beginner student needs slow-paced direction and a great level of detail so they can become familiar with basic yoga poses and use of the breath.

  This class is for everyone but is specifically geared toward those of us who work in a seated position for extended periods. Whether you are behind the wheel or the computer screen, this class will address common symptoms of the "sedentary" position, such as tension in the head and neck, sore shoulders and wrists, and limited flexibility in the hamstrings and lower back. By utilizing breath work, mindfulness techniques, and physical posture, this class will help keep you fit, happy, and productive at work and play. No previous yoga experience required.

YOGA FOR THE WORKING STIFFS

 Yoga Nidra literally means yogic sleep . It is an ancient technique where the practitioner assists students in entering the deep states of conscious relaxation. It is a systematic practice of moving awareness from our external world to the inner world. It brings us to a state of deep sleep where our senses, intellect, and mind relax. 


No current classes on schedule but I do sometimes incorporate it into my Yin Yoga classes and workshops
